How to use the SGD currency converter

Exchange-rate data comes from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP). The time beside each quote belongs to that quote, not the last page refresh. Rates may update at different times, especially outside a currency’s active trading hours.

How to convert Singapore dollars to US dollars

SGD amount × SGD/USD = USD amount

US dollars = Singapore dollars × the SGD/USD rate. Divide by that rate to work backwards from USD to SGD. Check the code beside each input: SGD and USD are different dollar currencies. The grey number is the reverse unit rate, calculated from the same unrounded quote.

Illustrative example, not a current quote: if S$1 equals US$0.75, S$100 equals US$75 and S$10,000 equals US$7,500. To work backwards, US$75 ÷ 0.75 equals S$100. Actual conversion fields use the available FMP observation.

Which Singapore dollar pairs are supported?

Compare SGD with USD, CNY, EUR, GBP, JPY, HKD, AUD, CAD and CHF. The three-letter code identifies the dollar currency in each field. MYR is not currently supported, so this tool cannot estimate Singapore dollar to Malaysian ringgit conversion.

Which dollar are you converting?

This page starts with Singapore dollars, identified by SGD. USD, HKD, AUD and CAD are separate currencies, so check the three-letter code beside each amount rather than relying on the dollar sign. Use the 100 or 10000 shortcuts for a quick comparison. Changing the target currency preserves the amount on the side you last edited.

Singapore time for each quote

Quote timestamps use the Singapore locale and Asia/Singapore timezone, with the zone shown next to the time. The timestamp belongs to the market observation, not the moment you open this page. Intraday history retains provider time because its source timezone is not confirmed. Daily observations retain the original date.

Currency conversion questions

How do I convert S$100 to US dollars or yuan?

Keep SGD as the source currency, choose USD or CNY as the target, then select 100 beneath the SGD field. For S$10,000, use 10000. CNY refers to onshore yuan in this tool; CNH is not offered. Enter an amount on the target side to calculate the SGD equivalent.

Why does the right chart axis run the other way?

The right axis shows the reciprocal: 1 divided by the left-axis value at the same height. As the forward rate rises, the reciprocal falls. The line represents one exchange rate, read in two directions.

Will I receive this rate at my bank?

Not necessarily. These are reference market observations, not executable offers. Banks and transfer services may apply a spread and fees. Compare their final amount and charges before exchanging money.

Are these guaranteed real-time Singapore dollar rates?

No. A visible tab checks for updates every 30 seconds; a new observation is not guaranteed at each check. The displayed Singapore time belongs to the FMP quote, not the page refresh. Older or unavailable data is marked, and results exclude transfer fees and spreads.
